This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have seen there are a lot of new people and wanted to make everyone aware of our get-together in Las Vegas. Right now there are about 35 going - and hope even more will give it serious thought. I don't have much money - but I'm going. I hate to fly - but I'm going. My kids will have a fit when they learn I'm going on vacation and not taking them - so I haven't told them. So - hope anyone else with reservations - will put that aside. It is very comforting to be around people who can relate to everything we're all going through.
As for not knowning anyone - most of those going don't know anyone. You will be surprised at how quickly we'll all get along. The first get together I went to was in Indiana and when we piled in the van to go to the Dunes (the next morning) it was like we were on a family vacation.
The trip is the weekend of June 22nd-24th. Some are arriving as early as Tuesday the 19th and some are staying as late as Wednesday the 27th. We are staying at the Harrahs (less $$) and the Venetian (more $$$) - but they are right next door to each other. We plan to have activities for those wanting to walk alot, or sightsee, or sit by a pool, or shows or (cheap) activities - whatever.
It is never to late to join. If anyone has questions you can post them here - others may have the same questions - or send a message to me or the two brainstorms of this trip - Moonflyer and Dragonstar55.

I had not Mentioned Vegas, to Her, because, I wanted her to come, whenever She could. So, it's " Goodbye Vegas, Hello Baby Girl "

As for taxi/shuttles - it seems everyone always took the shuttle to the hotels whenever I went to Vegas - so it wasn't necessary to share a cab. It's like a bus that goes to all the hotels. What does need to be decided - is where we are going to meet.

Paula, as far as I know now, the meet and greet will be at Harrahs downstairs, but will have final revised soon!!! :-)
Welcome SUE!!! Shirley already sent you the info and if you haven't gotten it ye, just friend me, and I'll get it to you! HAPPY to have you coming! this is also my first large gathering and I am BEYOND excited to meet the people who have really SAVED a life when it was need the the most....MINE.
