This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have seen there are a lot of new people and wanted to make everyone aware of our get-together in Las Vegas. Right now there are about 35 going - and hope even more will give it serious thought. I don't have much money - but I'm going. I hate to fly - but I'm going. My kids will have a fit when they learn I'm going on vacation and not taking them - so I haven't told them. So - hope anyone else with reservations - will put that aside. It is very comforting to be around people who can relate to everything we're all going through.
As for not knowning anyone - most of those going don't know anyone. You will be surprised at how quickly we'll all get along. The first get together I went to was in Indiana and when we piled in the van to go to the Dunes (the next morning) it was like we were on a family vacation.
The trip is the weekend of June 22nd-24th. Some are arriving as early as Tuesday the 19th and some are staying as late as Wednesday the 27th. We are staying at the Harrahs (less $$) and the Venetian (more $$$) - but they are right next door to each other. We plan to have activities for those wanting to walk alot, or sightsee, or sit by a pool, or shows or (cheap) activities - whatever.
It is never to late to join. If anyone has questions you can post them here - others may have the same questions - or send a message to me or the two brainstorms of this trip - Moonflyer and Dragonstar55.

Not everything that happens in Vegas will stay there though! the FRIENDSHIPS that even grow stronger will be taken with each and everyone of us, even more than now!!!!!!

Heartsick, I totally agree with you. I was just telling a friend the other day that it is the only place I can go and see how my investment is growing....LOL

I'm taking Flat Stanley - the guy has really been around, but he wants to come. I Hope to get some pictures of all of us with the cutie, and he plays a pretty mean game of mini-golf - (he needs LONG clubs) .
I did the Flat Stanley project with my friends grand kids, and it kept me busy for days. Flat will be reporting back from Vegas. Oh , he can't go in the pool, because he doesn't take water very well.
