Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I have been fortunate in that all of my wife\'s family have been caring and understanding and we all have been grieving together. I am curretly living with my stepdaughter because Rose and I were selling our home and she passed before it actually sold, so now I am left with having sold the home and no new one to move into yet - her and I were supposed to be choosing a new home together :(
Her entire family got together for Memorial weekend and they invited not only me, but my side of the family as well. I will also be spending some of my vacation this year with my stepson and his family.
I plan on continuing to be a part of Rose\'s grandchildren\'s lives as I know she really would have wanted that, and my stepchildren want that as well. I am close with Rose\'s family and I consider myself very fortunate indeed. BTW, Rose and I married late in life also, we met in 1998 and were married several years later. In that short time I gained a new and caring family and I consider that Rose\'s gift to me until I join her one day in the next life (hopefully). Hugs, Mark.
Unfortuntately Steve & I were only married for a short time, as it was a 2nd marraige for both of us. I became close to his parents for the short time, as his mom passed 4 years ago, and we both did everything we could for his dad. When steve had his 3rd incident in the hospital, his dad became very bitter to me, and was already buring his son. When his only son passed, my husband (steve), I got no support or anything from his dad. He even blamed me, for killing his son.
big time negative....
His brother, on the other hand is a different story. I have known him since he was 12 and he is now 52. He came over right after Rich passed and since then has not come over nor called even once to see how we are all doing.
Love & Hugs, Mo
