What brand are you using? With brands like Abena, Molicare or Dry 24/7 you can probably go a while between changes with lesser brands you usually need to change after one or two accidents. It does depend on the person how sensitive someone's skin is but if your getting red itchy bumps you probably are waiting to long between changes

I've had good results using Walgreens Diaper Rash Paste. As andy1050 suggested, a barrier cream or paste will help. I had to quit using corn starch because it made the problem worse. Never tried talc.

Sorry your having problems with rashes. You might want to try a more absorbant diaper like greengold4 suggested. I wear the abena M4 diapers at night which are pretty absorbant. I have also used Tranquility atn, and also Northshore supreme diapers. These diapers will help with fewer changes, and possible help with diaper rashes. I only wear diapers at night, but have worn them during the daytime before, but not that often. I use desitine as a precautionary along with baby powder and have not had alot of issues with diaper rashes.
Maybe your doctor can write a prescription for diapers, and have your insurance pay for your diapers.

Its different for everybody. We all have different skin. I can't stay wet as long as I used to. 23 years of paralysis. Barrier creams ointments etc all very important. My caregivers generally change Me at least once & every 2 hours in the morning when my bladder is more active. Later in the afternoon or evening I can go longer 3-4 hours. It also depends on the type of protection You are using. Using the quality brands. And overnight briefs like the Tranquility ATN. Or using booster pads with Your briefs. And it goes without saying change & clean up as soon as possible after a bowel event.

The same as others have suggested, I would try a good barrier cream and if not already better quality diapers. My worse wetting is overnight, I wet every night and unless I leak I tend to sleep right through to the morning so im in a wet nappy for up to 8rs (or longer if not disturbed at the weekend), so I use a barrier cream and don't tend to have any problems with rashes although sometimes can be a bit tender down there. If I went more than a few days without using cream, even with a good quality nappy, I found myself starting to get sore.

Yes, I had the same thing like you and it was due to wearing them too long. You should use some rash diaper cream - they turned out to be very helpful in my case. I tend to not have this problem anymore, but I'm also not wearing diaper for as long as I did. It's really hard to say for how long you should wear one - cause it depends on factors like: how intensive is your leaking or what diapers do you use? As I use those from hexa & co they don't have the best absorbency, but they are very comfy and really cheap, so they are much more affordable to me than many those that have high absorbancy, but are extremely expensive. You need to figure it yourself out, but truthfully you will be forced to spend some more bucks on your diapers if you want to avoid it. I'm sorry.

I use desitin quite often. Powder is really just a short term remedy. If your expect to be stuck in a wet diaper for a long time, you'll need to cream up before hand. I consider a long time more than 5 hours during the day. Night time is every other day or as needed if my skin's irritated. When your active and wet, moving around, or in hot weather, you'll develope rashes and chafing much easier. The best remedy is prevension.

Really depends on the products you use... some may "absorb" fluid but the padding is wet to the touch so you will get rashes, some more premium products actually do a good job of locking the fluid in the padding so the skin stays dry. these products can be used for an extended time. I have used some products up to 16hrs (only because i didnt have an opportunity to change) but those products are worth every penny!

I agree with the others,I have had bad skin rashes,there are three things I do,I do a perineal wash in between diaper changes, apply a good barrier cream like Desisten,then apply diaper, regular underware, finally rubberpants.

If you use a good nappy cream there should be a lesser chance of getting a rash. I usually wear a nappy for 5-6 hours. As i have total urinary incontinence my nappy starts to become wet as soon as i have a change. I generally use fresh cream at each change and the only time i do not have cream on is when havjng a shower. I generally dont get rashes. I hope this guidance helps.
