Hey Everyone :) I have not been very active on DS for a while, been busy with school and just haven't found the time. Once in a while I pop in, but kind of feel embarrassed to post or comment just because it feels like a new generation has entered this forum lol. Anyways, I don't have much of a social lifestyle. My best friends I have found pretty much just from using this site. All the people I grew up with in school and once called friends, changed and pretty much became jerks. Or the ones I could call friends have moved away. But what stinks is that I can't like go out and have a life. I go to my aunts maybe once a month to get my hair trimmed and styled and I do dress fully when I go, but that's pretty much it unless I am going to therapy.
I'm still not out to my mom, but I hope to change that in the new year. It's kind of my resolution. This year was all about finding myself, this new year will be all about embracing myself. So I hope to come out to her sometime within the next month. But I don't think much will change because of it, unless she freaks and kicks me out or something. But I want to come to the point of, how do you make friends? I've always had trouble making new friends, and now trying to make new friends as a transwoman, just makes me think it'll be harder. I have a skewed view of things I guess, that telling a man you're transgender will just freak him out and want nothing to do with you (or worse he beats you), and that women will just think either you're a perv or a freak.
So like, how do you make new friends? I don't want to have to be one of those people who just goes into a bar and waits for something to happen (Plus I don't like to drink). I'm just so bored and alone, and feeling like I don't have anything to keep me motivated. Maybe the new school semester will bring some good fortune into my life, but I'm not counting on it unfortunately. I feel like if I don't stop this topic soon I'm gonna keep rambling lol, pretty sure I've confused some of you. But I think you can get the gist of my topic.

It is hard to believe you want to be a male. Most males ,like wheels, speed, and think their rides are babies. To be a guy and also some girls like hot cars/trucks. I am a mtf and still have the hots for speed, or what us older ones call muscle. I have 4 HEMI's three trucks and a GTX Muscle with a 400 Police Antacepter with 3 four barrel quads. And it was factory when I got it new in 72. It is a sleeper. This is a guy's toy and a tough woman's toy. Find a group that you can relate too.
Rhonda's right, the bar scene is not the answer. Does your city have a pride fest coming up this summer, if so you should go. It is easy to make friends, maybe your therapist can go with you. Just ask, it cannot hurt. Or come to Milwaukee in June 5,6,7,8 we have one of the largest festivals'. It is the start of the season.
As for your mom, give her a hint, ask questions. See if she understands about trans gender. Look for a DVD about trans gender people. There are a lot out there. EMily
Emily- I am a male. I want to be a female. I have no interest in cars though, never have lol. My city does not have a pride fest. Indiana's not the greatest place to be for Equality. Closest place would be Chicago. I've kind of hinted to my therapist that I wish she would go with. We do have a sort of gay bar here, it's not really, but the co-owner is gay and they have monthly drag nights. But I hate going alone. But now my therapist just had a baby, so she's not an option. I've tried with my mom. Hard to ask questions to her, but I've left her a coming out letter than may or may not have been seen. I don't know unfortunately :/
The Pride parade does sound like fun and I'm sure you'll have tons of fun if you march in it! :)
i hope you go to Chicago pride and have fun.i don't know how are parades in America but they are bigger then in my country with 4.4 million ppl living there.but i can't wait for it!
