PJB, on the bright side, Twitter lets you use whatever as your name, and so far have not enforced actual names. I don't wanna jinx it though.

I don't trust facebook....If I had kids why would I want there real name on facebook? To many weird people out there.

Facebook wants your real name so they can shove spam down your throats. Also this will allow for stalking and perverts to show up at your door or phone. People should sue Facebook if they do this for breach of privacy concerns. Cause I'll tell yeah one thing, none of you signed off on this when you signed up with Facebook in the first place.

And now you know why I never wanted a facebook account. Well that and the fact they played the stock market and screwed its shareholders some years back. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I honestly don't like Facebook, I actually preferred MySpace but all my friends bailed and like a fool I followed. Then I decided to create a second account to be the "real me" and ended up starting a fashion page that is actually doing well. The things you do when you are bored with no real outlets. I spend so much time alone that all I do is go from account to account to my fashion page and twitter just looking for signs of life trying to fill a void. But alas I am still looking for some solace.

This has been a thing for a long time. They want you to put in your name so people can find you easier, however what they don't have is any way of verifying said name. You can put in whatever you want as long as it fits some very simple rules (having a first and last name *I guess Madonna is boned*, They are actually words and not initials). Long as it matches those, they don't do anything. Not that I use it much but my facebook I can tell you is NOT my real name and I set the name that is there after this rule went into effect.

Two cents worth..

By requesting your 'real name' they are capturing sex offenders and others on Facebook that shouldn't be there.
Plus another thing is the police can search for a persons name who has outstanding warrants or skipped out and is "at large"
Criminals are not to swift, they use their real names and locations where they are on Facebook all the time!!
Another thing is perspective employers can look up on Facebook to get an idea what a person is like before they hire them.

Some things about using your 'real' names is good..
Now about drag queens and others in transition, or gender 'confused'
And others... What's stopping us from using our 'other' name???
Will they REALY know our real names??

Don't sign up your credit card through Facebook, or link other accounts like Twitter or really ANY other sites..
If you have Facebook, make it ONLY facebook. If you have Twitter, make it ONLY a gwitter account... Do NOT link them!!!

Facebook apologize..

Taking away civil rights does not spark creativity among the masses. Facebook always talks about social networking and creativity. Then allow us to be social and creative, do not impede growth by removing civil rights. We are not animals
