I joined this group to share what has worked for me!! I already posted a reply to someone but wanted to share this with everyone.
I am just so happy over what I have found works for me that I searched for a group I could join so I could share my success. It was hard for me too because I am not very good on the computer but it's very important to me that people know what might be the cause for them.
I have been bruxing since I was young...only found out when I got married and my husband told me. It's 30 years later and I just got relief after ruining my jaw, breaking a tooth of in the bone, and jaw pain and tooth sensitivity abd sleep deprivation.
I constantly read and somewhere I read an article and looked at a diagram of the airway (which I will try to send) that bruxism can be caused by an overbite and/or weak receded chin because when you lie down the chin goes backward and closes off your airway. You brux to keep the airway open! I have a slight overbite and receded chin and I do know that once in awhile I will bolt upright in bed with a gasp. I thought it was just a dream or something but when I read this I thought maybe I have sleep apnea. I thought about going for a sleep test but decided to sit up in a lounge chair to sleep. Although I didn't sleep that well because I was out of bed, I did not brux! The next night I added a wedge pillow to the bed plus a long king siz pillow to the top and another pillow for under my head, making a steep 45 degree angle and I sleep like a baby....no grinding (I didn't even wear my mouth guard, no drinking water, no getting up to go to the bathroom....haven't grinded or clenched since!! I have tried a million remedies including well butrin, stuffing my nose up with tissue, multiple mouthguards, muscle relaxers, sleep medication...this is the only thing that worked immediately, 100 percent. I am now going to get an adjustable bed so I can sleep upright. It works...I hope I can help others. If you know where else I should post my message to this forum please let me know. I am not familiar with groups.
I do hope this works for others. I never thought I would get over this so I know how everyone feels.
Please try this and pass the info on. It may not be the answer for everyone but it definitley worked for me! Thanks!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
It makes perfect logic that to sit up will help and its one I am trying for the last few nights. so far its working.
So thks for sharing.
- Stop grinding, stop head aches (increasing in pain levels everyday), shoulder pain and
upper back pain TIGHTINESS and STOP FACIAL PAIN
SOLUTION:
- roll your shoulders up as if your shrugging up and roll back (shoulder roll backs)- do 20 times in the morning
- and everytime you feel tighness in yourself
- even if you feel no tightness but you feel pain in your face, neck and upper body
- do 10 shoulder roll Backs, or however many is necassary to feel yourself UNTANGLING
- do above while standing - even lying in bed - on the toilet - when u go to sit down
FACT for ME:
- chronic grinding at night came from dentistry procedure
- leading to four years of grinding, causeing head aches, immense facial pain (above symptoms)
- this causes the subject to be desensitised - meaning you no longer know when you feel pain at
certain levels - rendering pain levels to increase over days.
- ONCE I STARTED SHOULDER ROLL BACKS PAINFUL HEADACHS/MIGRANES WENT AWAY AFTER ONE DAY -
- ABOVE SYMPTOMS DECREASED AND WERE NO LONGER EXPERIENCED AFTER 2 DAYS -
- GRINDING AT NIGHT STILL APPARENT BUT SHOULDER ROLL BACKS IN BED REMIND MY BODY - U R TENSING AND TO RESTORE NORMALITY -
FACT:
- you can purchase monuth gaurds
- go to different therapy specialists
- invest in all the nonsensical anti grinding appratices
- go to highly recommended dentists- to try and resolve ur teeth grinding
NOTHING WILL WORK
- please - roll your shoulders up as if your shrugging up and roll back
- do 20 times in the morning
- and everytime you feel tighness in yourself, do at least 10 - or however many is necassary
to feel your self UNTANGLING
LAST FACTS
- YOU WILL ACTUALLY HEAR YOUR MUSCLE TENDONS UNTANGLE IN THE MORNING
(people will not exercise this solution because they think the solution is measured by how much money you throw at it, because I was the same. I just wanted
quick fix)
- it should not take visits to numerous specialists to heal yourself
- you should not have to invest in expensive anti grinding apparatuses to teach yourself how to
sleep properly, again
- please give a thought to SOLUTION (ABOVE) you all have better things to invest your life in
than to worry about all the pain this condition brings to your life.
