i keep writing my own quit smoking program and after months of being on the patch then tapering down managed to quit. Then i went through a very stressful seperation and was taking on two jobs school and panic attacks and i ended up relapsing. i then was temporarilly at my parents house and had them tell me not to quit after smoking 20 years. i cant afford it and i want my girlfriend to have faith in my but i was up to even more nictoine then my previous years after relapsing. i tried a 21 mg patches and still needed cigaretts and after a unsuccesful week of trying to quit with them said i was going to quit cold turkey. i think in my heart i need to realistically taper down to only 1/4 of a patch before i can fight the cravings to cold turkey but nothings working and i keep writiing my own quit smoking program. i know i just have to much nicoting in my system so i bouth one pack and decided ill do pathces on for three days alow myself one day to smoke and no more then 5 cigaretes then patches again less nicotinge then before for a few days then smoke again this time only 3 a day blah blah untill i have some solid tapering down. Am i a complete idiot. i just was in a stressfule place have two new jobs and live alone after 2 years in a codepent relationship and im deffinatley struggling

Tomorrow is my birthday and I will be 68 years old. Age doesn't bother me, really. So the celebration started yesterday with dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, that I actually worked at in the 90s. I went with my brother and our good friend. I ordered shrimp scampi. My brother was treating. They got Italian dishes. We all left with containers because this restaurant is not...

Then October of 2020 I had a relapse thinking 1 wouldn't hurt me then before I knew within a week I was smoking half a pack a day then was up to a whole pack.
I tried cutting out In Jan but after 3 days I was back to smoking like a chimney. Then end of Feb I had seen a Dr and got a prescription to stop I only lasted 2 months.
I been smoke-free since January 10th I did it cold turkey I had had enough of it where I was feeling gross and the constant coughing.
I started smoking at 14 was for anxiety and it seemed to had worked but in the long run it doesn't. I wish my mom wasn't the enabler at the time she caught me and my sister a year younger she didn't punish or even lecture us we both were filled with anxiety.she instead bummed 1 off of us and smoked with us. Then she allowed us to smoke in the house and in the car and said there was no point of us hiding she would infact buy our cigarettes when we weren't old enough because she figured we were going to smoke no matter what and find away to get them.because the smoking age was 18.
I feel on edge at times but I like how my constant coughing is gone I'm not constantly outve breath when I play with my kids and I have so much more energy.
