Single Parenting Support Group
Today being raised by a single parent is not uncommon. About three in ten children live in a single parent home. The most common type of single parent home is one with only a mother. However, single father homes are the fastest growing type of family situation; 60% growth in the last ten years alone.

My ex and I seperated when our daughter was 10 mo old. He went down a road of drugs, etc and eventually was completely absent in our lives. Long story short, he came back after not seeing our daughter for almost 4 years. She is 10 now. For the last year and a half, he has been going through the steps of supervised visitation, etc to gradually build a relationship with my daughter. He seems in a good place now and I really don't have anything neg to say about him. He is in a relationship with another woman with her own kids. I have done everything I can to keep this whole situation as positive and healthy for my daughter despite my own fears and hurt. My daughter is really happy. She LOVES her Dad and his girlfriend. I feel like chopped liver. She tells me every week how she can't wait for Sat to spend time with her dad and girlfreind. I am so broken hearted. I just smile and tell her how glad I am that she is having a good time. UGH! I want to scream... I'm the one who has done EVERYTHING for 10 years and he's been around only for 1 year and just barely getting unsupervised visits. No overnights even yet... although my daughter asks about it and can't wait to get to spend the night. I just want to cry....; anyone relate? Am I going to lose my daughter?

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
We just broke up and my oldest is 8 and has always been a mama boy now resents me because I left his dad...He isnt a bad dad but never helped much and I was always so tired so finally just left so to me this is hurtful. He misses his dad so much even though he sees him alot. But his entire world is upside down in his eyes:(
Deep down, she may not tell you (my daughter is the same age and her father is absent) but they know who is there for them and who will never leave them. She is in that happy stage, but her memories will surface when he was not there. Try not to beat yourself up too much, be happy and try to force a smile for her sake. Good luck.
I will keep my chin up and wear that smile for my daughter. Hopefully, you are right and she will know in time what I have done. and if not, that is ok..l know that I am doing the best I can :0)
