There were hurdles, especially as a child. Not so much as an adult. Got a short homework assignment for you. Google short movie stars/male or female or both. Nothing wrong with heels, elevator shoes, big hair, but best of all, an attitude is really important for both men and women.
You will be totally amazed.

I'm 41 years old and I'm 4'10 inches tall. I always adapted to my environments and in some ways I think having this "disadvantage" has allowed me to be more resourceful and adjustable to situations. Sometimes I wish more people would just overlook this and just see a man not a really short man or a midget, after all there's more to me than the length of my body, right? It makes me dread meeting new people sometimes, because I always feel like my looks are an obstacle. The latest thing my mother died a week ago and on the way to the funeral I decided to stop at a floral shop in town to pick up some roses to lay on her coffin. The lady shop keeper didn't know me nor what the purpose for the roses were nor did I engage in much conversation at the time but before I left she off handedly said ,"How does it feel to be so short, I'm short too". Indeed she could have been only an inch or two taller. But that was the last thing on my mind. I didn't answer, I felt so desolate.

I am 4ft7 139cm and I am miserable. I hate it with everything. I hate life and can't be bothered doing it. The comments, the abnormality of it all does my head in. The drugs to relieve the intensity of it all. The binge eating. The sleepless nights crying over it. Never normal always out of society. Classified as a disabled but get no support or benefits. Stupid life.

I'm 4' 4" and 31 years old. I got to 12 years old and all was fine, but then I literally stopped growing. I'm the only small person in my family. I went through a dreadful time in my late teens when I realised this was it. But, now I'm happy with who I am and how I am. Life is too short ( ha ha ) to mope around feeling sorry for yourself you need to just get on with it. It can be hard at times but most people are great, friendly and helpful. There is always a minority want to get at you. But they cause problems for everyone and in their own way are smaller then me... and that's small!

I'm 19 years old and I'm 4'9". I wouldn't mind it if people hadn't bullied me in the past or if people would stop calling me a midget since I'm not. The worst besides those things is finding pants, but that can be solved. I in general do not mind being short though.

I'm short and I hate how that seems to define me when I meet new people. I have heard off hand from friends of people I just met that they characterized me as the short buff dude. I hate that. I am so much more than that, yet that is what society uses to identify me as. I'm 5'4, yet religiously wear boots with a small added insole to make me appear about 5'6. I'm afraid to wear anything but that because I'm afraid of being even smaller. Walking bear foot is a big no for me.Does anyone have some encouragement/advice for me? I would appreciate it, thanks.
