Sexual abuse is a relative cultural term used to describe sexual relations and behavior between two or more parties which are considered criminally and/or morally offensive. Different types of sexual abuse involve: Non-consensual, forced physical sexual behavior such as rape, incest or sexual assault, or psychological forms of abuse, such as verbal sexual behavior or...
Last year, I somehow became pretty close to this guy. We met because I was looking for someone to come with me to see a performance at the nearby theater. He insisted on buying my ticket, even though I made it clear many times that I wanted to pay for my own. This struck me as odd, but I decided not to worry about it. He and I would soon call each other a couple times a week on skype. I am not really a social person, so this was very odd of me. Again, however, I didn't think anything of it. I had other friends who never really thought too highly of him, but I brushed those concerns asside because he was pretty nice to me, and treated me as I thought a decent person should. Something in the skype calls began to change though. He would constantly bring the conversation back to a sexual context, and sometimes alluded to past flings, though never by name. I enjoy dirty jokes and the like, but I wasn't too comfortable with how serious he was getting with the innuendos and double entendres. I would usually end the conversation by saying something like "I have to do laundry" or "I'm going to bed." Nothing sexual ever happened face-to-face though, so I assumed it was nothing. On the day we planned to go see the production, he called me and told me he'd be picking me up a couple hours early. I had expressed interest in meeting his dog, so I assumed that was why he was picking me up so early. We went to his house, and his dog was adorable. But after playing with her for a couple minutes, he put her outside and turned the tv on. I don't remember what was on because a few minutes later, he started kissing my neck and touching my chest. I was really uncomfortable at this point, and tried to tell him that no, I didn't want to do this. He didn't stop though, just kept kissing me and touching me. I tried to tell him no a couple more times, with similar results. I don't remember much of what happened for the next hour or so, other than me wondering when he would be done and how much I didn't enjoy any of this. Eventually, he finished and I asked if I could use his shower. I just needed to get away, even for a couple minutes. Soon after, we left to go to the production, but when we got there, it was already going and the theater didn't allow late admission since it would disrupt the show. The night went on just as well as everything else had, and he finally dropped me off at home at 2 in the morning. I was supposed to be home by 10. The subway station closed at 12. After all this, I was pretty run down and confused as to what exaclt happened. On one had, I was happy to know that I was at least somewhat desirable (my self-confidence has always been very low), but on the other hand I didn't want anything sexual or romantic to happen in the first place. He had me again, a couple days later. I felt the need to talk to someone able it, so when sexual experience came up between myself and a coworker, I spilled almost everything. Instead of saying that he had forced himself on me, I just said that I didn't like the experience. Well, word got back to this guy, and he went off on me and made my life a living hell anytime I came near him, whether voluntary or involuntary.
So my question is, am I just being overdramatic and blowing things out of proportion, or could it be said that I was being forced?

I was sexually assaulted as a kid. I find it hard to accept that another person's actions caused me so much harm. He made bad choices and now I am paying the price. Stupid PTSD!
Just so you know...I had a similar experience with a boyfriend. The first time I said "no" he stopped. The next time I said "no" he said "Not this time" and continued to have sex with me. I was 24 at the time and I just froze. I did nothing to stop him and just prayed for it to be over. I always beat myself up because I didn't fight back but I finally remembered I was sexually abused as a child and there were strict rules to not move when someone was having sex with me. Even though I didn't remember this experience the 'programming' was in place and kicked in the minute he said "not this time". Men who feel the need to rape women (or other men) are not sincere and they don't care about their victim. Rape is not about sex either. It's about control, manipulation and fulfilling their own needs, whatever they may be. So please know that this was not your fault. You did nothing wrong and you are not to blame for anything he did to you. This is all on him. And I agree with mutate9602 that you are definitely NOT being dramatic.
You wanted a companion, sounds like he wanted sex... And he didn't care how he got it...
A true friend would be concerned with upsetting you, and even apologizing that he was scaring you ...
I one time made someone uncomfy, and I was in tears when I found out... I was scared, and didn't want to loose this friend over something... (Come to find out, they looked into a text in a bad way. ) that's what a normal friend does... Not making it look like it's your fault...
If he continues to bother you, try getting a restraining order.. If he keeps bothering you, he can be arrested!
