Either way, seek therapy.. for you, your daughter, maybe even other siblings, please also stress that what happened, was not your daughter’s fault.. she did nothing wrong.. you are upset over what that creep did, she ( and you) did nothing wrong..
Pleas hug more, say “ I love you” more.. show each other support me.. hug the bad out.. when they don’t want to talk, just hug.. replace memories with good times. Set up extra times for you to hang out with your daughter.. even if it’s just to go walking or for ice cream..
You’re not alone in this.. hang in there..

I am sorry you need to be here but also very glad you are here.
I was molested and tortured when I was 4. I suggest you educate yourself as much as possible on how to relate to
people who have endured molestation or rape. These are often life altering events that can have long term mental and emotional symptoms. The more you know, the more helpful you can be for your child. Do all you can to encourage her to speak about how she feels, and validate her feelings and what she is going through. Also I suggest you find every resource you can for yourself. You may experience feelings of guilt or other things that you need to speak about and work through. Eliminating the perpetrator from your lives is a good move. Working to prosecute them for their criminal actions can be healthy and therapeutic, but it can also be further traumatizing so please be careful. Depending on your Childs age, you may want to allow him/her to make the decisions on what they can or can not do regarding the prosecution.
Please gather a support group for yourself with others who have shared experiences, a safe place for you to share what you feel and learn how to best support and nurture your child and family through this.
