The only side effects I can recall and expect is a rash on both cheeks of my face, sores in my mouth and my stomach cramps at times.
I have had very little problem, except mouth sores at times.
Good luck this time around.
My buddy I used to get fishing with all the time told me the other day, he's had RA for years and at first he did all these meds. He was constantly sick and more less said the 'heck' with it and for the last four or five years, he's done nothing but Aleve and he seems to be doing fine. He said, he has pain and swelling at times but he handles that much better than taking all these drugs. I'm at that stage right now. I've been off meds now for a week and I have more energy, don't sleep all day or part of it. I was out shopping with my wife two days in a row and didn't get so tired I couldn't function.... Right or wrong, i'm giving it a shot. I'll keep you posted on my progress as the weeks and months tick by.

oh and I take 6 per week
As for side effects, I asked a friend who researched this drug for his dissertation 35 years about side effects. He looked up recent research and said: "You can expect a slow accumulation to reach an equilibrium after a few weeks. Then after 4-6 weeks you should know whether you will have side effects." He added that side effects can pop up later, but most show themselves early on.
almost six weeks on, i am having fewer side effects. the nausea is very rare now and my appetite has returned. however, i get hungry and know i should eat, but i don't always want to and i never know what i want. you know how you'll feel hungry and be like, wow i could go for a burger or an apple or cheese or something? that doesn't really happen to me any more. the fatigue has evened out too. i still experience fatigue, but it's like 'normal' fatigue every day, it's not worse right after my mtx dose. however, i seem to have developed another potential side effect - sorry men, you might want to skip to the next paragraph. i seem to have been developing a yeast infection for about a week now. not too bad but a bit annoying. i'm in no way prone to them (unless on heavy antibiotics) and dr. google mentioned that some women do experience this side effect.
i also take rx folic acid daily, 1mg. my gp just added rx vitamin d as well. i am taking a multivitamin, calcium +d, folic acid, omega flaxseed oil capsules daily. dh and i just had a vitamin shoppe run yesterday and i'm adding in daily biotin and a probiotic.
