Hello everyone,
I have been on Votrient for 25 months and wanted to start a discussion on side effects and what other cancer patients are doing.
Here are the ones that are bothering me:
Numbness in feet.
General fatigue.
Muscle weakness and shortness of breath when I work around house.
I have found relief for most of the other side effects.
Thanks for your input.
Cheers

This isn't really bipolar related but there is never anyone on the parenting groups, this is the most active group I've been in.My 6yr old son has really bad seasonal allergies and they're in full force right now. He gets a terrible cough; he coughs all day and all night, making it hard for him to sleep, and his nose runs.I've tried every allergy medicine, OTC and RX, and none of them affect his...

Is anyone here allergic to Sulfa that is currently taking Diamox? I have been diagnosed with IH now for almost 2 years. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...

Nausea
Fatigue
Poor taste - metallic taste to a lot of different foods
The nausea and taste are most bothersome to me. I take anti-nausea meds but none seem to alleviate the problem. So, I tolerate it. I am going to stay with the Votrient because it has stabilized the tumors that are in my hip/pelvic area.
My hair has turned almost completely white. I'm 65, though, and have had some compliments on my hair so I'm not going to color it.
My prayers and best wishes to everyone!!
Mike
I have been on Votrient for 17 mos. now. My side effects are:
All body hair went white (I was silver gray already!) But now am seeing some thinning of my hair, and have noticed small bumps on my scalp and forehead area that seems to be a hair folicle that is not right.
I require and lot more rest, but work 3-4 days a week, 8 hrs. usually 1-10PM, afterwhich I require the next 3 days for rest! Have some cramping, still showing blood, have had 2 units in transfusions to correct the anemia. Also, I have very bad leg and hand cramps, usuallly at night, but not always. Other side effects, I can take care of with anti nausea or imodium when it gets bad. But, I had a very good report of shrinkage from Oncologist last month. So I just pray I can continue getting good results.
Best to you and all,
Rosa
Thanks and prayers for all, This is the fourth cancer (2 bladder in the 90's) and I refuse to give in to any thing but living every day to the best I can.
I have been on sutent for 10 months the only hair on me that turned really white was facial hair. For fatigue my wife makes me a smoothie with 8 ounces of POM juice, half a banana and a cup of either mixed fruit or blueberries and 2 scoops of Visalis. Visalis is a powder mixture of vitamins, protien and not sure what else but it seems to help because I can sure tell on the days I don't drink it. If you have trouble finding it let me know and I will try to help. dprochello@longlines.com
I have been on Sutent for three years now I have brain and Lumbar spine Mets. All have remained stable thankfully but no shrinkage. I will be happy with the stability. Site effects were manageable. After the brain Met was diagnosed they told me to take Sutent on a continuous basis (25mg) and undergo stereotactic radiotherapy this was successful giving substantial shrinkage ( thank god) The continuous dose has given me real problems with diarrhoea. Which I had not experienced when I was on a higher dose and took a breaks from Sutent . The consultant today they have now suggested I change to Votrient on a continuous dose. I have now got a decision to make. Not sure if I will be exchanging one set of effects for another. Is anyone on a continuous dose?
