I'm on xarelto and haven't had the leg pain or side effects. I would mention the headaches and leg pain to your doctor just so he knows; if it has been a month and you're still experiencing this, maybe it's not the right medication for you. I do get red dots. Mine are on my upper arms and chest. I had this when I was on warfarin and also now that I'm on xarelto. I had a lot of fatigue after my PE diagnosis, especially has I started transitioning back to work and just doing more. I would make sure you're getting enough sleep and staying hydrated. But for sure mention all of this stuff to your doctor.

I had terrible side effects on Xarelto. Light headedness, heartburn, fatigue, and more. The hematologist switched me to Eliquis and the side effects went away. I would suggest asking for a change.

I had terrible leg pain during the three months I was on xeralto bug no red dots that in my opinion would be due to swelling of the legs causing tiny bruising I know that med can cause joint pain but not sure if it could cause other issues? Have you spoken to your Dr about that

both lungs PE and DVT on right calf on feb12. Halperin for 3 days and released from hospital with Xarelto 20 mg daily for 6 months. I was fine with no side effects but past 2 weeks i have joint pain, muscle leg weakness, throbbing in behind right thigh. actually all my pain is from my right side where by dvt is located. right ankle and right nee hurts also. taking alittle tylenol but im positive its because of Xarelto

Went to a medical center today and received a referral to a cardiologist from an apn . Next opening is May16th but im in the waiting list...Yikes!

Going to ask to be on Warifan with all the blood tests...cant deal with the throbbing pain for another 4 months. *will ask the cardiologist about Eliquis but I also read that they also have similar side effects. Im not positive....

Usually side affects of medication occur shortly after starting it so I'd be surprised xarelto was causing that now. But who knows; maybe it is. Your pharmacist could opine on that but for sure ask your doc about it. I will say that when you have a DVT, it's not uncommon to have pain come and go in your DVT leg for a while, especially as you become more active, go back to work, stand more, etc.

Nice reply RMB. I think your right that it is an accumulation and parts of different factors. I found out my pain on my right side. Right butt, right underneath thigh and all down the right leg.....sciatic nerve. I had a lower back problem years ago. Im very active working out before my february PE attack. these 2 months of inactivity probably made my abs/core weak and my whole body tight and weak. Ive read that the blood thinner (xarelto in my case), DVT and all the load the right leg and overall body is under is causing nerve problems.

Im stretching all day(buttocks and hamstrings) and already notice less pain. will be stretching everyday and will update everyone.

*Im afraid(nervous) to work the upper body chest area presently. my chest/lungs feels immediately tight and heart pressure races

Been stretching but still alot of pain and muscle spasms. Read alot of pe snd dvt forums and alot of complaints with muscle and joint pain. Today i started getting rashes that looks like pox.

Going to be asked to go to warafin asap. My body is not reacting well with xarelto

Anybody else go back to warafin? Any thoughts?

I've noticed since being on xerelto my skin is changing and I don't like it. Particularly on my arms. I know I'm getting older but it wasn't like this before, very loose, dry, and bumpy. I hope it's not permanent.
