Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
My dad is a major member of the positive thinking cult. Drives me nuts, really.
I am not a suzy sunshine person by nature, but I am kind of a good time most of the time. I think this is more about a personality trait vs an active choice in a lot of ways. I was always like this, even as a kid. Also, when I do kind of stay in a dark place too long, I don't think it's healthy, period. I like myself better when I'm not in a foul place 24/7.
One thing I do notice- people are much more inclined to help you or do things for you if you seem to come from a place of yes. So maybe that's where that law of attraction comes in. If you're always negative you attract negativity. If you're not, you attract positive people and positive experiences. I can actually see how that works. I've been around couples who are completely negative and crappy about everything, and I think, wow you were destined to meet because who else would have you.
With that said, from a medical standpoint, I highly doubt a smile on your face is going to cure an inoperable malignant tumor.
The Pessimist looks at the glass and says that it is half-empty.
The Optimist looks at the glass and says that is it half-full.
The Engineer looks at the glass and says that it is twice a big as it needs to be.
I mentioned earlier, Mother Nature gave a good shot at killing me and failed miserably. She will win in the end but for now I'm still chuckling. Taking rodent poison once a day, getting blood test once a month, trivial inconveniences. A friend of mine has been fighting a fistula for TWO years and it is still leaking after multiple surgeries, etc... I'll take my bilateral extensive 60/30 bp PE any day over that experience.
