By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
If a person is also taking another anticholinergic drug also (many antidepressants are plus a host of others that would surprise you) then the effects are probably escalated.
I'm not suggesting that anyone stop their warfarin. Just be aware that cognition can be affected. Lucky are those that will only be on it for 6 months because that effect is usually reversed with discontinuation.
