Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Joking aside, sometimes it just helps to hear others' experiences and assurances so you feel a little more sure footed in your recovery.
I was diagnosed on November 4th with PEs in both lungs and two DVTs in my left leg. I was dumb for not paying attention to my swollen ankle (started in late August). I was ignorant to what blood clots were? Anyway, I was a very active runner before the diagnosis. I was an avid runner for 35 years. However, after getting the blood clots, I decided that walking would probably be better for my body in the long run :) I started walking up to one mile about one month after my diagnosis. Everything has been good thus far. I think if you gradually work your way up in intensity, things should be ok for you.

You may want to follow up with your doc on when you can start your spinning again and if there are any restrictions you may or may not have at this point. I don't think we always need to defer to our doctors for every little thing and I think exercise is really important to start again as soon as we are able, but when to start exercise and the kinds of exercise to do may be contingent on the extent of the PEs, any heart issues diagnosed due to the PEs etc. So it's good to run it by your doc when not sure.
