Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

New kid on the block - Just to give you all an update, got bad news on Wednesday -mammogram showed up an abnormaity in my left breast whch was followed up by an utrasound - had needle biopsy's and there is a very high chance the tumour found is cancerous. Breast consutant is sure it is a hormonal tumour and t has caused me to have sticky blood which caused my bilateral pumonary embolism-to go back next Friday. He wont operate just now because of my Warfarin and in a very positive manner told me that my PE was far more of a worry to him and should be to me than the cancer. I will be put on an anti cancer drug meantime,
Got the shock of my life as the mammogram was routine, as the exact cause of my PE hadnt been determined.
Feeling kind of numb about the whole thing but I have a long wait until April which is when i've been on my Warfarin for the 6 months and he can then operate.
Still feeing fatigued and SOB with my PE and just wishing this nightmare would end.

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
Hope that all your treatment will go well.
Thanks again.

My BFF is a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed just after the birth of her first child. She's now the mom of three and cancer-free for the last eight years. It was an arduous journey, but I think it makes the good times so much sweeter in some ways.
In a funny way, the PE might have saved your life. You might have found the tumor sooner than you would have otherwise.
We're all rooting for you here, so please keep us posted on how you're doing and what happens.
Keep reaching out when you have "those moments". See your GP, get a second opinion if you are so inclined and lean on us here when needed. I will be sending positive thoughts your way...
Get through the coumadin first.
I am praying for you.
I have no idea how you're feeling right now, but wanted to add my hugs and support. I know that you want to be strong through all of this, but remember to also be gentle to yourself.
If the consultant had felt any urgency, he would have done the surgery before April (((((hug)))))
Just think forward in 6 months time, the PE will be gone, you will be off the warfarin and the tumour will be gone. You are also extremely unlikely to get another PE as the cause has been removed. Stay strong, life will get better and f you think back 6 months to June, 6 months will soon pass.
I think worrybee's advice is good: think of six months ahead as your goal, and in what a better place you'll be at that time. The months really do seem to fly by, so six months will be here before we know it.
I'd also like to add that there have been so many advances in cancer care. I think many of us know breast cancer survivors, and there are so many who have survived for many years, when the treatments were not as advanced as they are now. If they survived with care from years ago, I think your chances for a recovery with the new treatments and meds are even that much better.
Follow your MD's advice, try to relax and heal (I know that is so much easier said than done~~but it's so helpful), and keep the faith. I will keep you in my prayers.
Blessings, peace and hugs to you!
I need to Thant you all do much fir all your support, encouragement and kind words, I am very touched.
I am doing my best to stay positive and put it to the back of my mind but had a bad morning and was struggling a bit, out of the blue my priest came in for a visit as my son whose an altar server had been telling Fr about my PE's and this is the 1st time he had a chance to visit. He could not have picked a better time, looks like my main man up there is looking after me, I'm so glad I have my faith.
Got hospital on Friday to find out for definite and get started on anti cancer drugs.
Thanks again you guys your support and friendship means the world to me.
