Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
I wonder too if you drank it consistently, why your doc couldn't just adjust your warfarin dose to accommodate adding it to your diet, know what I mean. Rather than saying stay away from it, just work with it
It's like alcohol. If you really want it, try it and see how it affects you. A slightly lowered INR for one week is probably not going to really hurt you (especially since we must remember that what we anti-coagulated folks think is a "low" INR is still about twice the "normal" reading for people who don't take these meds). But I wouldn't jump into a green tea binge or diet without doing a "one cup a day" and gradual increase to test, and I definitely would involve my doctor so I could be monitored a bit more often during the "experiment".
What I do pay a lot of attention to is supplements. Those things can have very high concentrations of herbs that could dramatically affect my INR, so I always consult my doctor and pharmacist before trying a new supplement.
