Has anyone tried this? My methadone Dr, who is first hand very much aware of my addictions, asked me if I would like to try Campral. She said it is only supposed to help make you feel like not drinking, and if you were to drink, wouldn't cause any problems like things like Antibuse.
I've been taking it for about a month, but I really don't see much use in doing so. It really seems to not do anything at all, but I started it because I thought I could use all the help I could get. But I don't notice anything whatsoever about it.
I am managing to stay sober by following the A.A, program, and trying not to let fear rob me of recovery. I understand my disease and know that I can take care of it and live a life that's useful. I have a program that I'm trying to do the best I can right now. So I don't think that Campral is useful. Just seems like a useless pill that's costing a lot, that I am covered for and don't have to pay for, but is making people in the health profession money, but really doesn't do a thing.
Has anyone else tried this Campral, and if so has anyone had good or bad results? I look forward to hearing about it if you have. Thanks. James

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

The dose I was on was 2 pills 3 times a day. I noticed that when I skipped a dose, I was craving alcohol. I thought it helped me but I was also going to AA as well. I thought both helped me especially in the beginning when my sobriety was still in a fragil state. I took Camprell for about 2 months, after that, I didn't feel as though I needed it anymore.
Good luck with that!
God Bless
