Hang in there, it sometimes happens. Prayers from me as well.

I went to the doctor and he did an ultrasound. Everything still looks good. He said to come back if the discharge every became red.

This afternoon I saw nothing, and now it is back again. I am so worried. This cannot be normal.

Brown dishcharge is old blood. As your uterus grows and stretches it can break blood vessels and cause other types of bleeding. There is generally no need for concern with brown. The reason your doc told you to come back if it's red is because red blood is new blood and MIGHT be a cause for concern. Even then, however, it might not be anything at all.

After having gone through 4 pregnancies myself and watching my sister go through 9 (that's right, 9 children!) I have to say that there is nothing "normal." None of my pregnancies were the same. In my sister's last pregnancy this year she bled the entire time. They never did figure out why but she gave birth to a healthy baby on time. I bled throughout my second and third trimesters from a subchorinoic hematoma and my baby was fine. Other women have NO bleeding whatsoever and then wake up one morning, start bleeding, and miscarry so it's really, REALLY difficult to judge one experience against another.

I will say that many women complain about bleeding in the first trimester. Your body does more work in this trimester than in any other. Lots of things are growing, moving and shifting.
