Yay! Mexico refilled PTSD nightmare med Prazosin!!
mujicaptsd
I'm really relieved. Seroquel for my PTSD nightmares sedated me and then left me on the edge of needing dialysis because of its permanent damage to my kidneys. Prazosin is liver-processed, not kidney-processed, so it's the only safe PTSD nightmare med out there and it works super for me without sedation nor kidney or other side effects.
Retiring as I did to Mexico this month because like most middle class USA folks I could never afford to retire in the USA itself, I wondered how my PTSD med situation would go. I just refilled it at a pharmacy here in Mexico with no problem. WOW! :-)

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I don't often talk to US pharmacists --not even my pharmacist in-laws-- but I adored talking to pharmacists in South America. I could go in and get what I needed to get me through the night without doing all the waiting room shuffle you have to do in the US. They had tons of suggestions when I wasn't all the way sure I knew what I needed.
Now for today, I'm going to try to introduce myself more fully to my new Mexican face to face support group.
TRIGGER WARNING
I don't want to go into it for fun, but to introduce myself I have to go back over things and tell them about how my mother got frustrated at her second child's birth. So she killed our cat in front of me when she brought my sister home from the hospital to show what happens when you demand too much of mommy. I was afraid I'd end up like that dead cat, too, which was her point..
She never hugged or kissed me. Because I knew that in church she didn't want to look cold as she really was, I would make her hold my hand there during church services just so she would touch me some time. She hated that, and would beat me when we got home. As a sociopath, she enjoyed watching others suffer. When she'd get my bipolar father to hit me, she'd stand behind him with her sociopath smile on her face, and her eyes bright and shining from sadist pleasure.
TRIGGER WARNING
I need to tell the group also that my nerves in my legs are gone from Seroquel overdoses for nightmares from the day I was tortured at age 15. In Iraq and Afghanistan in the USA's recent wars, the torture used was waterboarding, drowning people. In Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile, though, since they were cattle countries the CIA taught torture with electric cattle prods. Cattle prod electric shocks were applied to the genitalia of people.
I have nerve damage progressing now in my extremities, my legs, my feet, and my genitalia. Four times a year a neurologist tests my extremities with needles to see what I feel. It's less every time. I can't feel the skin below my knees now, even though I'm really glad my muscles work enough to walk with a cane.I can feel nerves in my legs and feet die every day, though.
A dying nerve burns and vibrates before it goes dead. So all of a sudden, out of nowhere I will be sitting still doing nothing, and my toe begins to vibrate. Then it burns, then it feels like a toothache, and then it stops feeling anything at all. Another nerve died last night thanks to Uruguay's dictatorship that ended in 1985. It's 2021, and it still hasn't ended for me, it will never end for me and those like me.
It's going to be tough talking about all of this old stuff, but my new Mexican support group sponsor said it's what they want for me to do, so I'm going to see if I can. Probably not all of this at once, though. Whatever, please wish me luck.
