I remember some morning I'd wake up at the "melodic" ranting and yelling of my mother over something. On countless days my alarm clock was her yelling at my sister for not cleaning the dishes the way she wanted the night before, or at my father over dirty sheets, or whatever theme she chose.
It was pure bitterness, anger and rage. She'd go on and on and on for hours on end, and sometimes she'd still be in the same "mode" at 6pm when i had to return home from school.
I have no idea what triggered it, but today i woke up just angry, arguing with invisible people, insulting the closet and my tie rack, raging over the smell of my soap... I mean, all this anger and bad mood.
The thing is that I consider myself a morning person. I normally enjoy the morning, I'm full of energy and ready to start my day in a nice tone. I have no idea why I was so angry today. And it was just like my mother back in the day.
Anyone has woken up like that? I can't remember what I dreamed if anything at all. Can't think of anything in specific that has happened that can trigger it. I was a little scared of that happening again. And I'm happy that there wasn't anyone I could yell at.

Do you think you may not be sleeping well? Maybe you could see if you could get into a sleep clinic to make sure you are going into the deep sleep needed to wake up refreshed and ready for the day? Just a thought. Lack of sleep can do some very strange things.
Hope if gets better.
One day out of character/out of sorts most people have from time to time. It seems like only if it becomes a pattern that you need to be concerned about cause.
Also, you may have FELT like your mom ACTED, but what you wrote doesn't sound as if you were actually acting out (yelling) at your toothbrush etc. Probably unlikely you'll out of the blue start acting like your mom, seems you had enough of it in your life when you lived with her.
Every morning I wake up in severe physical pain which makes me feel (understandably) psychologically dumpy. I have a management program that takes about 4 hours every day to help me feel almost sort of OK. Everyday I just tell myself to stick to my program and I will be able to climb out of the pain for a while. Usually works by the afternoon. Guess I shared that cause even regular bad morning stuff doesn't have to ruin your whole day.
My psychs and I are all pretty sure it was connected to emerging memories. When memories are as deeply repressed as mine were, dreams are a fairly typical place for them to begin re-emerging. We believe I was waking up so charged from the dreams of them that I was like a bullet emerging from a gun. It is no way to live.
Keep posting, Chris. You are your mother's daughter, but your mother did not have us.
I am in a much better place in my recovery and healing. I never had such strong anger like this in the morning as soon as I wake up.
@arfie: Maybe you mean "You are your mother's son"? I'm a guy :-)
After that I have been ok. I can't remember what I watched on tv the night before or if there was anything out of the ordinary, or a weird dream.
Good thing is that I didn't harm myself or anyone. Something else to bring up in therapy.
At least we know what we're doing and what this is. My mother, like yours, did this all the time in between popping prescription pills and so forth. But she never got help, never took responsibility, and spent her whole life blaming everyone else around her. She raised blaming to the level of an art form, and boy could she hold a grudge and carry out a revenge plot long-term.
In that sense, I'd say you're not quite totally like your mom, then. I know I'm not. Thanks for posting this.
