Been having a really hard time with my nightmares. I've been to scared to go to sleep but end up falling asleep because I'm tired and exhausted from having them all night. Really don't know what to do. I can't stay awake because I can't have caffeine because of my heart. So life is really sucking right now. It's like I don't care at all but I do at the same time. Just want the nightmares to stop.

Sometimes, I think I have ODD. I can be oppositional. It seems that the only times that I feel like cleaning are when I should be doing something else or I have to go somewhere. Well, not everytime but most of the time. Yesterday, I was supposed to be doing online training for work but instead, I decided to work on my kitchen table. Most of the time, I don't know where to start and give...

I have a possible new diagnosis to discuss with my therapist tomorrow. It might be the answer to a question that I have had since I was 19. It's called Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD). It happens to a large percentage of people with ADHD, which I have. Actually, I have been watching videos about ADD/ADHD lately. I remember my Mom telling me that she watched a show on ADD and she...
Seroquel's rough. I don't know if you tried it, but it was rough on me. Over the counter melatonin did help, though, Don't know if you've tried it.
A dream journal was my first breakthrough in calming my nightmares. I kept a pen and paper by my bed or under my pillow so that I could write about it immediately after waking up. If nothing else, it calmed the after-nightmare hysteria I was experiencing back then.
Gentle support while you find what works for you, Mitzi. No doubt about it. Nightmares suck, both literally and figuratively.
@arfie, I try not to stay up. But I do sometimes becuase I'm so terrified of what nightmares I could have. I used to have hallucinations but they stopped because I got so used to staying up for 24 hours or more. I've tried a dream journal but what would happen is either I would be so tired and exhausted from the nightmare I would fall back asleep before I could write it down or I would be lucky and forget what it they were about. But thank you for the support.
having them with me releases that worry mechanism somehow. not always, but often.
