the first time I talk about it
I was molested when I was a child for approximately 3 years, it started when I was 4 years old, almost 5. I never wanted to talk about it, because I don't feel I can trust anyone with this piece of information, also because I don't want to say who did it, and I definetely don't want to be seen as a victim, I hate when I cry about it, I don't want to feel bad about myself when there are some many people who have had worst experiences than mine. I feel miserable, most people see me as a happy person but I'm not but I don't want them to see that, I never have had teraphy or anything because I don't think I'm going to be able to say what happened to me, but I need so bad to say it, I thought it would be a good Idea to say it to strangers on the internet.

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

I understand not wanting to be seen as a victim. Generally we use the term "survivor" here, because we are all survivors first and foremost.
Everyone thinks that others had it worse, but there's no comparing pain really. Your pain is as legitimate as anyone else's. If you lost a hand and someone else lost an arm, your injury wouldn't hurt any less because you knew about the other person, right? An injury is an injury.
But then, as you go on getting it all out, every time it's a little less hard. Until eventually you come here and repeat your story in this safe space over and over. Every time it loses its power over you and you become a little more free.
I really recommend a good PTSD therapist. He changed my life.
When we use that word it is self validating, it means that we can see we did nothing to deserve this or those actions. It helps to break a cycle of self blame that is an easy trap to fall into.. We find too easy to fall into the thinking that we somehow contributed to it or brought it on. Or could have stopped it.
But picking up a 2-3 year old and knowing that there is no way they could have stopped anyone is a start to releasing that fear and affects of the abuse.
I survived but it took a long time to mentally comprehend that. I went silent until it became habit. But I did survive, so I am here a survivor.
Welcome quiet-words,I hope you find courage with us.

My early anonymous forums were pre-internet. Nobody knew my name, but they could see my face and body language. Girl, howdy, it took me a long time to open up, but it was still easier for me to open up there than with a therapist who had my name, address, etc. It was peer support that helped me led me to and helped me navigate the winding, big-word mazes through the pro-ways of pro-therapy. All these years later, I still find the anonymity relaxes me more than I can say.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find healing companionship here.
I understand your need of privacy and therapy at least for me is private. I started here on DS,then found a therapist. Take care
