Been on another weepy spree since my eldest son (37) returned to Texas after a week's visit. No particular reason I can see. Just . . . the domestic justies? All those spaces, little and large, where life just didn't turn out like I'd planned and/or wished. This round has not been debilitating. *Just* an undercurrent which has been popping up at unexpected moments as I go about my day. The rounds have been responding well to mindfulness exercises.
Been noticing flashes of anger flashing through the sorrow. It feels something like a new awareness of a lifelong pattern. Do the flashes of anger serve to pull me back from the brink of depression? Is it denial of the yaddah which caused the sorrow?
Again, I am not sure what I am reaching for here. Sorting. . . Thoughts? Experience?

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

Years before having kids, we all dream of what it will be like, the mistakes we won't make, the mistakes our kids won't make. We'll give them, maybe not the best of everything, but good enough, better than we had, and things will go great.
And then they don't...
(((The pain of that is etched in my soul. The fear, the terror, the anger, the anger at him, the anger at myself. The fear. The deep soul crunching sadness.)))
"Welcome to Holland" was written for parents of kids with disabilities. But I think that it's pretty applicable for anytime things 'go differently'.

Whether there were internal or external injustices it's easy, again, to get stuck on the loop of blaming and honestly to god rightful anger. I'm glad you're using mindfulness because I know all to well that that anger, a sub-emotion to hurt, does absolutely nothing for your mental health today, in the now.
Maybe looking at all the right things you've done, listing them if you could, will help you realize how unnecessary it is to focus on something that you would change if you could, but you can't so you won't. I hope this helps.
Maybe you are just reaching for an ear. We are listening.
