Thanks, I'm on my way, in the Mexico City airport to change planes and I don't notice a lot of coronavirus difference from previous trips. Throngs of us travelers as usual and not that many wearing surgical masks. Hmmm...

Now we'll see what happens this week with my having decided to travel internationally as I've done. I got to San Cristobal, Chiapas, Mexico about an hour ago--my home away from home.

I made it safe and sound and once again the front desk clerk at the hotel where I always stay received me with a hug. Now I'm at my usual taco restaurant around the corner, where they made a fuss over seeing me back again, too. After dinner I'll drop by my usual cafe' for my cappuccino and I'll bet they'll welcome me back there with a hero's welcome as well.

If I get the coronavirus all of that will pale in comparison to the medical reality I'll be facing, but at least I'm here. Fingers crossed.

Corona is only 4 hours from where i live now and i have a very weakened immune system and am on steroids again so not taking chances!

I'm having a good time down here, though I keep expecting coronavirus to force the border to be closed. It's spreading, to keep your immune system away from it the best you can, ok?

As I wrote elsewhere here today, SC, "I woke up in Mexico this morning to frantic emails from coworkers in the States. My college has postponed opening again after Spring Break due to the coronavirus outbreak."

It's been great to be down here in Mexico. I've stayed healthy, just as y'all said I would. Now to get back to the States Saturday....

Nah, don't feel guilty, Mojo. I'm glad I came. I'm just worried now about whether I'll be able to come back for the summer again. I want to prep to retire here in 2021, but my plans didn't involve any global pandemic. Geez.
