I am not at all familiar with the show Artie. But maybe to keep the PTS from becoming PTSD, do they deal with each circumstance that comes along head on in a very timely manner instead of stuffing it away only for it to rear it's ugly head somewhere down the road? If we stuff enough, there can be a lot of things that become intertwined and create one huge mess. One straight piece of yarn is easily dealt with. One huge knotted ball is quite another animal.

I doesn't know, but I does believe that wounds to the psyche are functionally equal to physical wounds. Just because science has yet to identify, name and measure the components of wounds to the psyche does not invalidate their existence. Bacterial infections, too, were around lo-o-o-ong before the word, "bacteria" was reinvented as a medical term.

In Arf World, ignoring immediate treatment of psychic trauma is tantamount to pulling your dirty shirt sleeve over a gaping wound and declaring it, "Fine. Just shake it off."

I keep seeing carnival lights when I use the word, "psychic," but it literally means, "of the mind." Is the world already typecast, or can we rescue it for our work here? Seems to me we are gathered in the hopes of psychic rescue. . . Can we rescue the words from the carnies? Betcha they wouldn't fight us for it.

I enjoyed the show a lot when it aired originally, and the acting was amazing. I cried during a lot of episodes.

I'm with you on that "Shake it off". That credo *gave* me PTSD. (Thanks, Dad. No, wait, no thanks... grrr.)

I had to do an internet check to refresh my emmory on that particular ep arc, but yes, there was intense stuff, and the (spoiler) discovery of a "rat" among them to me is a perfect emblem of the betrayal we feel when we're criticized by those who aren't in our "squad" (AKA PTSD world).... Did that make sense?
