Despite the fact that I got my flu shot this Fall, like arfie I've developed a full blown case of the flu today. It sucks especially because for the first tine in years I have plans with others for the New Year:
1. New Year's Eve with a coworker at a restaurant where others coworkers of ours are to be the band supplying the evening's entertainment right up to the countdown to midnight.
2. A 5 day trip to Mexico I planned for myself last summer. The trip is for fun, but also to check out a city in which I might make my home for retirement in 3 years.
This flu, though, is putting those plans in question. If you've got the time and inclination, would you say a prayer or send good thoughts my way to see if I might recover from this flu in time? I know arfie's flu has really lingered in the last 10 days or so, so it might take chicken soup plus prayer and good vibes for me to get well from this.

I am sorry you are sick, and hopefully it's as they say that if it is a strand that you had the shot for, then it will be shorter lived and less severe.
A prayer for you.
I don't think I would have made it through my couple of colds and asthma attacks had I not gotten the flu shot(no autoimmune system). By the way, my Daughter and Grandkids and a couple of Friends speak "RasRo," too! :)
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GOD BLESS! xoxo
I haven't visited the experts but I only believe that my flu bug ran its course and is gone. I believe that I am now dealing with radiant damage; damage caused by the catalyst (trigger) hitting a system weakened by stress, age, etc. In my current case, I believe the current radiant damage is a sinus infection. Repeat, I only believe. I would trust the experts to run tests, etc., to provide actual knowledge, if I decide to pursue it. That radiant damage is often more lethal than the original illness/injury. I believe PTSD, itself, is radiant damage of normal, easily invalidated post traumatic stress. So opineth this just-a-patient. . .
Salute the Nag Flags, muji. Keep your self-awareness fine tuned. Rest when you are tired. Eat whatever you are craving when you are hungry. Ditto for thirst. Be very, very gentle with yourself.
Hope you are able to enjoy your New Year's plans. Hope you can roll with the punches if they are derailed. I am still pissed that my survey project has been knocked to the back burner for over two straight weeks, but. . . Is it lucky that I don't have the physical energy for throwing tantrums?
Wishing you a speedier recovery than I'm having, Patti
