Hi I am new here. I joined because I know I am supposed to try to find a support network, but I am finding it harder and harder to convince myself to try maintain/ form relationships with people. I am tired and I'm lonely and emotionally unintelligent. My family is dysfunctional and even though I have a husband, which is a miracle these days I even find it difficult to relate to him without feeling judged. I have so much trust issues, have no idea what a healthy relationship even looks like. So I'm trying this...Any advice/ anything please talk to me & please don't judge.

The piece of advice I believe has best served my own recovery is, "Small bytes and long chews." Before I started plying this advice, I kept looking for one-size-fits-all solutions that I could implement in 20 minutes or less. I was a master of unsustainable solutions. The "New Me" lasted about as long as the time I invested in creating the new me. Cleaning up the aftermath of my sweeping reforms became a way of life.
My sustainable recovery started when I began accepting myself the way I am and breaking down my dysfunctions into small, byte-sized pieces and chewing each byte for a long time before attempting to implement.changes. I trust myself to know what needs to be done when the time is right for action.
By the Arf measure, joining this forum to begin building your support network is a nice, byte-sized chew. Chew well and trust yourself to know what to do when the time is right.
