I have very bad PTSD. It is so bad that I actually forget things. It's really difficult not remembering things. I also sometimes can't see anything or hear anything. I lose control and I forget. Its one of the scariest things in the world. I can't deal with it properly. I'm having trouble communicating with my doctor about forgetting stuff. How do I tell my doctor? How do I remember things? How do I deal with it?

I have a possible new diagnosis to discuss with my therapist tomorrow. It might be the answer to a question that I have had since I was 19. It's called Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD). It happens to a large percentage of people with ADHD, which I have. Actually, I have been watching videos about ADD/ADHD lately. I remember my Mom telling me that she watched a show on ADD and she...

That's why though there is more modern technology out there and I do own a smartphone, I still cling to my old Palm Pilot and keep computers going that are old enough to sync with it. That's where I keep all of those lists and notes Leo mentions above.
I teach for a living, so every night before classes I make a script for the next day. A real script, where I write what I'm going to say tomorrow or I'll forget.
I often lose my place several times in every class every day up in front of a classroom of 25 students or so. But since I project my script up on a screen overhead for me and the whole class to see, I find my place again and keep going.
My HR director and my college VP both have been informed formally on the record that I have PTSD and I'm under Americans with Disabilities Act protection. However, I teach a full load of classes like any other instructor.
When I go to the doctor, I write a script out for that ahead of time, too.
Gentle support while you find what works for you.
