Time. I've become obsessed with time and perception. Chronic, complex or just single-event ptsd have in common time being either very slow, you fast, or at standstill.
I am literally tortured by how slow time has been for me. I don't know what else to do. It's been a nightmare. Pain has become very common for me, but so has my hyper-awareness and vigilance. I am currently away from home, with my aunt.
Everything in my head makes no sense. Everything feels like a blur. I had a major confrontation with mom on Sunday and it was intensely re-enacting and liberating, but all I have are bits. Bits and pieces of memories. This is real pain. I don't know how God keeps me alive, when each day feels just like the day before.
Am I making sense?

Time? I am not sure I see the point to measuring it. It takes what it takes.
Confusing? You betcha!
Don't know if this is what you were describing, or not. I never heard the term "chronic PTSD" before, but my "trauma induced amnesia" was spotted in 1974. That's pretty chronic... These days we are calling it Complex PTSD in my therapy.
I know the first year, I went through events from 13th -21st of each month. On annual anniversaries again, every second of every day.
In real terms of time, well at first there was no sense of time. (tomorrow literally didn't exist, it was just a white space) no tomorrow, next week, next year, nothing.
Time.... well, I don't know what happens to time. It is only recently that i can watch tv, I had impaired concentration. I could also disassociate when I was triggered....which again affected my perception of time.
Weeks can fly and I can think what have I done? Where has that time gone? Because of insomnia, i am often awake at night, so I have no structure of time.
Lots and lots of things, time is real symptom of PTSD for me.
I wonder if it was because it felt like the only thing that I had control over. often I wouldn't know what day of the week it was. Yet, I always even from early days of recovery knew what time of the day it was!
