I have not been feeling so well for awhile now and yesterday I got upwith severe belly pain so I got myself to the local ER and was in tears wh en I got there cause of the pain. Well, the doctor was a total jerk and gave me something that did not help at all. I left in more tears and more pain and had a panic attack. I did call someone while I was stuck at the bus st ation. I was afraid that I was going to hurt myself cause of what happened.
Well, I got myself home finally and still having a panic attack and reached out for support so I would not do anything stupid.. Am I alone with bad experiences at their local ER's and doctors?

It would be nice if they would teach doctors to have a better bed side manner eh? Some are aweful, cold, dry and condescending. They are human and make mistakes. If that pain keeps up, so back to the ER. You can always ask to see another doctor rather than the first one.
Hope you are feeling better
We are here for you, ladydi. Deep breaths. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Small steps.
You are lucky to have support. Keep your support in place. When panicking, try blowing out with your lips---like you are blowing the bad feelings away. Good luck.
My regular doc put me back on my current anxiety med because of an ER induced panic attack that didn't let up when I got home. So feeling abused by an ER is something that unfortunately happens to other people too. It is not your fault or your weakness.
Luckily you were able to leave there so you can now pursue another more effective treatment. How is your tummy now? We want to make sure it and you are OK. Do you need to find a different source of medical care? If you get real bad you can call paramedics and hopefully just go to a different ER, and get treated for your panic as well as your abdomen.
To me your frustration and fear are understandable. Try and be a good loving care giver to yourself. I try and separate off the panicking emotional part of me in my head, and attempt to be my own protector/ good mommy with the more rational part of my brain. Don't know if that makes sense, but you are the one who needs to protect you.
The good thing is that you can come here and confirm you're not paranoid and it's not your imagination. We can fix the fact that people come in all kinds out there, but all kinds does mean the kind you have here, the kind that understand. Keep coming back!
I got a post card from my abuser 3 days ago where I now work and had a panic attack over that myself. Coming here has helped me come down from it these last 3 days. Hope it works for you, too. I hope the pain in you stomach subsides. If you need to go back to the hospital, hopefully there's another ER you can choose. Take care and let us know how things go here. We care.
This might all be part of the same reaction to stress. I'm not saying that's what it is...just that it might be that. Try doing something to calm yourself down, if you have anything like that. I know that's not always possible.
I've learned how to do that with meditation but it's not something I can explain. It's an ability you learn with practice, like learning to ride a bike.
I had so many problems with my digestive tract when I was living at home. I got away from my dysfunctional home life and most of it cleared up.
I give myself space when I have been triggered, let life slow down. I don't isolate and I don't want to fall into depression. But I picture my mind and body working hard to repair a tear in the fabric of my present life by an intrusion from the past. Be good to yourself.
