Don't know if I'm just being paranoid or what but sometimes I feel out of place here. I know my abuse was real and horrific. I'm also not naive to believe that everyone believes it. I'm backed into a real corner right now and need support. I overdosed last week. Only reason I'm here is a passerby saw me unconscious in my car. That truly upsets me. I can't stand the flashbacks anymore. For that matter I'm tired of therapy. Therapist seems to have run out of advice and compassion for me. I don't deserve it anyway. I am filthy, dirty. I have nobody anymore. I have social anxiety and am agoraphobic. This is not a life.

I'm alive, I'm sleeping like a rock, and for some reason I wanted cherry juice so that seems to be helping. (??? Weirdo that I am.)***Infamous therapies over history:1. The Attic. The madwoman in the attic is a motif in literature going waaaaaay back: the nutty female relative is locked in the attic. (See: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for a grotesquely racist version of it, and Charlotte Perkins...

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

I stayed with one therapist for 30 years because I trusted him not to abuse me, though I knew he didn't really understand me or see me accurately. Finally after my father died I changed therapists ... and I have discovered there are so many therapists out there, and so many new and innovative approaches to healing. If you feel you have reached the end of the line with your current therapist, please try someone new. You might discover that you can take leaps forward by trying a new approach.
You do deserve compassion, and you deserve to move forward in your healing. Don't take the blame on yourself for how others have wronged you. Don't take the blame for your therapist's limitations. You deserve to live a life.
DOn't give up on therapists. Sometimes we move toa point where we need a different one, or a different therapy approach, and it just is what it is. Like physical healing, you get past the part where you need crutches, but still have to use a cane fo ra broken leg.... The original injury is the same, but you need a new approach to your healing process?
Gentle puma suport to you
I hate the fact we treat PTSD by who you obtained it. How you got it does not matter as much as how are we going to give you your life back? How are we going to reduce or eliminate symptoms and allow you to more forward? How are we going to give you back your self-worth, self-esteem and confidence? Personally I think we need to focus on this much more than who we go it.
I hope you know we are here for you and we get it. I too got to the point I could not live like I was and ending it seemed like the only way out. Like you, I did not succeed. I am here to tell you it can get better, it does get better. For me it was the right combination of meds and therapy. It took a while to get the right team in place to help me, in fact it was 9 years and 2 hospital stays before I got the right group.
Today I am doing really well, I feel hopeful. Things are not all roses, but I have come to learn that my symptoms will flare up, but they will eventually stop and those moments of peace are golden. Eventually those moments of peace have gotten longer and longer.
Know I care for you and really want you to stay with us. Hugs.
When I first became awake from my attempt I was pissed I was still here. It took me a few weeks to get over that awful feeling of wanting to do it again but i got through it. It is just over a year now and I have improved drastically. Please know there is hope, things will get better. There is a medication that Muji has posted that helps with his nightmares and flashbacks. You might ask him about it. Much support for you Zoe.
Hope healing happens here, Zoe. For all of us. You belong.
Even so, they never admitted their guilt and found ways of blaming others, including me. At the time I'd broken contact for 8 years, though, so blaming me was just an old habit, not anything real.
So hang in there. We believe you because we know for ourselves here what folks like us are up against with abusers who cultivate that public image of being upstanding cornerstones of the community. You've done well and you've been very brave. Take it day by day now going forward. Be good to yourself and protect yourself. Much support to you.
