What a week it has been! A student died on campus last week and I led a memorial service for him last Thursday. Then I got semester grades in on time the next day. Now, on Monday I was working out at my gym. I've done well losing the 20lbs required by my surgeon so I can get insurance to ok my stomach weight loss surgery next month. I went to nutrition classes once a week for a year at a hospital an hour away, then I did a cardiology test and passed psych testing last month for it.
So when I thought I felt a cramp in my foot during a workout, I pushed on through, because I don't want to quit exercising now. But today I woke up with a horribly swollen sprained ankle. I could only make it to my college's awards ceremony today on crutches, but I got there and handed out the student of the year award to one of my students. I had to have help to get back to my car, though.
Tomorrow I'll have to go to the ER to get x-rays because it really hurts and won't bear weight. I'll have to miss the end of year all college meeting to do it. I hope I can get in shape to walk in the commencement procession on Saturday. Plus, I'm schedule to speak at a church on Sunday.
Ouch, y'all.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Where I stand today is that I STILL haven't gotten out to see the doctor. I made it to my car's trunk to pick up my clean laundry, though. It had been there since Monday. So there's that. I did have an "aircast" for my sprained ankle from last year and put that on. It braced my sprain and helped until it rubbed a bloody blister on the skin over my ankle bone. Now I can't wear the aircast and I've got a bandage on my ankle.
Like Roseanne Rosannadanna used to say, "there's always something."
Thanks for your solidarity. I mean it.
I hope you've been able to make it to the Dr to get ex rays. I'm praying for you. Let us know how you're doing. Hugs
Your strength & determination got you this far you can do it. I know you can.
I’ll keep you in my thoughts & you keep us posted!!
Best of luck

Now I hope I can figure out how to get back to doing the workout with weights I learned to do in physical therapy at the hospital in March. I sprained my ankle in a workout, but I still want to get back to doing that workout because it helped me lose weight but, most of all, I found it to be a good stress reducer for my mental health, too.
Thanks for the encouragement. I needed it! I've developed quite a bit of "monkey mind," as Buddhist language would call it, in these days upon days of being isolated in my house. Time to join the human race again.
That 'sounds' miserable Simpson!!....eek
