What a week it has been! A student died on campus last week and I led a memorial service for him last Thursday. Then I got semester grades in on time the next day. Now, on Monday I was working out at my gym. I've done well losing the 20lbs required by my surgeon so I can get insurance to ok my stomach weight loss surgery next month. I went to nutrition classes once a week for a year at a hospital an hour away, then I did a cardiology test and passed psych testing last month for it.
So when I thought I felt a cramp in my foot during a workout, I pushed on through, because I don't want to quit exercising now. But today I woke up with a horribly swollen sprained ankle. I could only make it to my college's awards ceremony today on crutches, but I got there and handed out the student of the year award to one of my students. I had to have help to get back to my car, though.
Tomorrow I'll have to go to the ER to get x-rays because it really hurts and won't bear weight. I'll have to miss the end of year all college meeting to do it. I hope I can get in shape to walk in the commencement procession on Saturday. Plus, I'm schedule to speak at a church on Sunday.
Ouch, y'all.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Your body and need a little care and rest.
I am as I type I have an ice pack on my shoulder. Creaky sore joint
Good thoughts sent muji
And second yes please do go to the ER. Sending luck its not broken.
Healing hugs
But wow.... how did all that happen from working out at the gym? I hope you won't require surgery on your foot too, for tearing some tendons? Poor thing. Please update us when you know more. The most important thing is that you made it to the important events. Don't be hard on yourself... especially after the crazy year you've had.
Hoping to get past the bathroom on crutches to my car to get to the hospital for x-rays tomorrow.
A couple of coworkers from my college called to chat on the phone, so that was nice. I'm thinking that if I didn't live alone, I might have had help getting to the dr for x-rays by now. On the other hand, though it hurts a lot and constantly my layperson's diagnosis is that it's a sprain like it was last year, not a broken bone. I'm kind of miffed that this happened working out at the gym, because I did a month of physical therapy first just so I wouldn't hurt myself starting exercise.
I hope I can verify my opinion that it's a sprain and not a bone break by getting to the dr for x-rays by myself tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
