I grew up going to these people's house, They had a daughter and a son....The son had mental issues. Their son didn't have a brother....I think the family made me pretend I was his little brother.
I think he know's He doesen't have a little brother, He just can't except it.......usually theires a limit to what a mental person understands, But, He know's what a big brother's role is....He teased and shamed me, when I used to go over ther. To him, it was funny. I didn't think so.
I think it's nice for what his parent's did for him....makeing me, and maybe other's that went over there, think that he had a little brother, But, It is misleading, to put a person in a uncomfortable positon like that.
Curtain situation's make me feel VERY uncomfortable, Like growing up.....I use to to go over to friend's of the family house....I was close with their daughter, and they had a son, Who had mental issues, He didn't have a brother, I think He thought I was his little brother,, someone he could tease and tell what do, and how to do it......And if their was stuff I understood and he didn't, I tryed to assert myself And explain it to him, He would get upset.....Thinking I'm older then You, I should know more then You..
That kind of stuff made me feel Very uncomfortable.....if Uber and or Lyft existed......I would have left, That's how uncomfortable it made me.
Blood may be thicher then water, but, I did feel very uncomfortable around him.
I couldn't tell the parent's, because.....their these ultra self-ritious hollier-then-though people, Who believe "what would Jesus think if I did that" that You don't talk about other people hehind their back's.
If You even tryed You would here something like "You know we don't do that in this house"
I know You should probably Put Your discomfort aside for the mentally disabaled, But, being disabled myself, I am very sensitive about stuff like this.
I hate feeling this way, I can't even sleep without thinking about it all these year's later....
I don't know what do.

Thank You, Your right i'm under no obligation to do so, I just kinda fee bad, because, I said yes, When my friend asked me Before I had a chance to even think about it.
Now, it feel's like I'm to her and myself
If my friend had asked me directly if I would make a video, Then Yah, i guess, All she had to say, was, David can You post Yourself playing guitar? Instead I got. can HE post........Now a ton of scenario's are going through my head, Like, having to humor her brother, to make him think he can teach me.........etc
It's kinda like If Your son or daughter was going out, and never told You when they'd be home, A whole bunch scenario's would be going through through Your head.
Yah, I know I don't have to post.........she does have 4 kid's, so hopefully she forgot....This thing is just nagging at me
But, that Downsyndrome isn't active anymore.
The problem I'm having, and have always had, was the autistic aspect of his DS.......Him invading my personal space, and The psychological aspect.
Next thing I'd like to do, Is try to convince my parent's I have PTSD............I think they think that Milatery personel are the only ones who can PTSD........But, I Know anyone can.
I've just never been good telling people something is wrong........Everytime I try I get shot down
I learned to practice and rehearse, even writing out what I wanted to explain what's going on,, so .... if you can boil it down to crisp, calm, under 25 words? It helps people get a clue.
ANY trauma can cause PTSD.
And humoring Down's syndrome doesn't work as a universal rule. There's a range fo what they can comprehend, of the autistic behaviors, phyiscal things wrong, and you have to adapt to each person. My one loved one was rarely violent, but hated touches. The other with Downs loves hugs but won't let go, and it feels like I'm being squashed to death. His mom has taught him he can't hug longer than count of three.
So.... we're here, and rant away.
Yes, it did make me feel powerless.
I felt very deminished and worthless when I went over to my friend's house, and her brother teased and shamed me............I wish I could have just left.
And, when I use to go for dinner, No one talked to eachother, It was so quiet You could hear a pin drop. It was so uncomfortable.
These are The kind of people, That if You say something about their son or someone else Even it's concern, Your a Sinner, Cause They think it's tattle-tailing.
Though they are very nice people, They truly wear their heart's on their sleeve..........But, VERY religious
And it's always been with him, "I'm older then You, I should know more then You"
I've always tried to assert myself, he did not like that, But he will let other's show him how to do stuff. And he has been confrontational with me, to the point where I thought he was going to kill me. He's always been confused by: "what's mine is yours, Yours in mine" And" if it's important to You, It's Important to me" Meaning to him, It's Important to, I'm going to have it.
Sometimes when the family would come over, he would pick up something of mine. His father would say "no that's David's" He would pout and "Cry" (i'll spare You the babyish reaction when they gave in to him) But, then sit me down, put his arm around me, and started waving it in my face, taunting me with it. That's what them humoring him.....But, Your humoring Downs syndrome does not work, That makes them think they can do whatever they want anytime they want, That's like being an accessory to a crime. By not stopping them from doing what their doing.
