I haven't been on in a while. But right now I am at a low beyond low. My husband of 16 yrs assaulted me last month. Not the first but definitely the last time. This triggered the F out of my PTSD - nightmares so bad my psych dr doubled my prazosin and ativan. I'm still hunting for full time work that won't stress me to the point of inpatient. Working part time but with him out (got a protection from abuse order), I have almost no money. So I am dealing with mounting bills (including medical from the assault), mental and emotional health in the toilet, and having to ask for charity. I am getting SNAP and medicaid but nothing else. I've asked but there's nothing for me. I started a go fund me just to try to make it to the end of the year. I never before asked for charity, I gave when I had even little. I'm still helping friends as I can. But I feel the world has drop kicked me then stomped me while I'm down.

But. . . Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Welcome back.
I just paid off a 2009 Hyundai Accent with 100,000 miles on it in October, which got my credit rating back after 17 years. I paid off my new credit card this month. I rent so I don't have a mortgage payment. Gawd, it took forever to get back to breaking even. I've held on to a low paying job now for 6 years, so that did it for me.
So I can say that it does happen that we can patch up our lives eventually, but it has taken so long that I couldn't do it without support from here every day. The road is too long for me to do it alone. Glad you're back with us. Let's take it one day at a time, ok?
Little bits, one at a time and chew well. I'll eventually get that elephant down.
