I suspect some of the folks here have heard that classic line as often as I have. "Just let 'IT' go."
I do not believe "IT" has ever carried an agreed upon definition in any of the times I have acted upon the phrase. For me, the "IT" I typically let go of is the notion of trusting the individual speaking the phrase.
Anybody else?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference...
I do say 'let go and let God' sometimes, and at other times I might say, "God helps those who help themselves".
it's a topic often discussed in 12 Step groups. Some misunderstand what 'letting go' means. It doesn't mean to just toss IT aside and not care any more, as some seem to think. It actually refers to control. Many people hang on to things trying to control them when we often can't and the holding on really serves no purpose, only perpetuating the same thing for too long, Not having control can be very scary, but then in comes that God does have control,, and that is where the 'let God' comes in. This does not mean sit back and let God/George do it. We still have a part to play in most things, even if it's just to pray, to support, to hope. That's where 'the wisdom to know the difference' comes in.
YEAHHH. Not.
Whatever the end-name, the goal is a review of the list of things we are afraid to share with each other. We are finding many of them are out-dated boundaries which do not apply to our current lives. Lives change more naturally than habits. 33 years is ALLOT of habit, compromise and change...
Looks like we will be celebrating the anniversary on Tuesday...
Things stagnate if they don't change.
I wish you the happiest of Tuesdays.
And now I have one with batteries that is a lot less trouble.
