I have multiple dx. So I never know what is causing me trouble. I also have a lot on my plate. I feel so left out, negated, and unloved. Mother's Day was a disappointment. I just got a full time job but all it does is make me feel conflicted. I've been caring for my elderly father for years and now his cancer has spread. I have an opportunity to go on a vacation but feel I shouldn't go because though there is a sib here, he won't take responsibility to even check on Dad once a day. Do I continue to sacrifice my life- my life, that's a laugh!- I haven't ever had a life. I heard a saying-
Don't have expectations and you won't be disappoint. It will now become my motto. I can't take all the disappointments.
Know what I mean?

I agree with that statement but then I'd see or try to see situations equal to each other.
it is hard when someone has cancer, I know that, but it's harder when you have to look after them if it becomes a narrative in your life. That I haven't had experience with but I know how difficult it can be.
Maybe you should try to share things with people more, even if it doesn't help. Do it as a statement for freeing yourself, trusting yourself, and knowing that you won't feel as alone.
Perhaps when the time is right a vacation will be apart of yourself rather than trying to run away to find it.
everyone has to sacrifice things, and mostly a part of themselves, but it's trying to see that sacrifice as you growing into yourself rather than away. Perhaps now isn't the time, I know you cannot see it now that there will be a beginning for you, but life always changes when we least expect it.
I also agree some extra support from outside might be needed.
I am on a vacation this week and it is HEAVENLY!.
