My beloved is home from the hospital. Eldest son (34) honored the occasion by tearing up his room in a man-tantrum, but he got that out of his system before the heart patient got home. His issues had quieted to the oppressive silence a sound sensitive prefers by the time hubs arrived. He finally carried his oppressive silence to whereverville a short while ago. I don't know where and I refuse to feel guilty for keeping my focus on the guy fresh out of the hospital instead of his bachelor dramas... I don't have time to build him a sensory deprivation chamber quiet enough to guard his fragile sleep needs today.

Youngest son and his wife saved the morning. Are still saving it by way of picking up the meds, etc.

Just rambling... I sure do feel shaky today.

So glad that your beloved is home.:-) Gentle hugs, Arfie, and let the man-baby go wail out his wah-wah elsewhere. You're correct; the focus has to be on your beloved. Glad the other son is being more helpful than harmful from the sound of it:-)

Gentle hugs Arfie while you go through all the drama with your oldest son. Remember he is grown and can take care of himself and you need to take care of yourself and your beloved right now. That is your priority. Just know we are here any time you need to vent.

Eldest son has returned to do some loud banging around the house. Door slamming, etc. I just love the irony of the loudest person in the house being the one who constantly complains about the noise. Never joyful noise, of course. Slam, curse, screech...

Sigh...

@ Lilly...my mom's psych hospital has those...haldol, Benadryl, Ativan.
In the butt muscle.
Can be readministered every 4 hours...
Maybe Arfie and the two others could tackle number one son...

...more practical advice? 50$ will buy you noise-canceling headphones. They can be dialed up or down to provide more or less quiet. Mechanics use them.

If it keeps number one son from being less of a jerk that could be money well-spent...

Why does eldest son 'have' to be there? It sounds like he very much needs his own special place where he can have the quiet he needs and be a big boy.

Glad hubby's home now and that there's a break from the hospital for a while. It's good to have young son & his wife doing some of the leg work for you, so supportive. Kind of puzzled about the timing of the older son's behavior, though. Such an episode would be noteworthy at any time, but especially distracting in the context of bringing hubby home after so much of a struggle with health issues. It would make me shaky, too, seeking to bring hubby home to healing stability after the hospital roller coaster ride. Just rambling back, I'm afraid, but with you and sending prayers and supportive vibes, arfie.

Miracles do happen. With no major scenes since the bedroom destruction this morning, Eldest son decided on a weekly rental room elsewhere. GO GUY!!!

Sure did lighten the homestead ambiance... A cherished geezer might be able to regulate his heart rhythm in this atmosphere. That's my prayer and I'm sticking to it...

    I did the dumbest thing today.  I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds.  I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym.  What a dummy!
