Hey what's up?
I think I am o.k. now, for a while I did not feel like talking to anyone. Well the biggest news is that the Man(if you want to call him that) that molested my daughter died. I guess the stress of the upcoming trial got to him. Also with my family gently knudging me I am able to take short trips to the store and walk my girls to school. However my anxiety and mind still races. I wish the VA could help but their groups are more for wartime ptsd. They do have one group of females who have ptsd from rapes, however I would be the only male. Not a good mix for me or them. Well a lot has happened in the past 6 months or so. I welcome any questions. God Bless, Sean

Have you checked out the anxiety discussion board for ideas and techniques to help you settle the "racing" feeling?
What type of support group are you looking for?
Wartime experiences are sometimes extreme, however, what gets shared is often something you can relate to in your experience.
The magnitude differs from the point of view of the maturity of mind when the trauma occurred. You and I at the same time may experience the same traumatic event, but you may have a different reaction to it than I do, be it more or less negative in magnitude.
Initial recovering from PTSD as best as one can possibly so do is very much dependent on the mental maturity of the sufferer of it. PTSD simply put is an ILLOGICAL thinking condition brought about by an ILLOGICAL experience in the sufferers life.
Logic dictates that if you experience an illogical event in your life your processing of it is going to be in an illogical/don't know how to way, and that is why it is so difficult to overcome, because whilst it is logical, and therefore RIGHT to think illogically and react illogically to an illogical event, in so doing the condition is fed, and naturally becomes worse the longer it remains LOGICALLY unresolved.
Logical thinking is RIGHT thinking, ILLOGICAL thinking is WRONG thinking, which one benefits you then, and which one does not? If you TRULY believe you know the answer to that question then your road to recovery should LOGICALLY begin, but only if you answer the question correctly, you see the dilemma that PTSD provides?
Good luck with your recovery my PTSD suffering friend.
