I had a therapist appointment Wednesday morning. It was already a tough week to begin with, but since, I've had trouble with panic attacks, I've even had them in my sleep... what little sleep I've had... I must started to post this a half dozen times but, every time I started to... I'd panic again and had to abort... I fell last week and hurt. my hip and Wed was the first visit to the office since the fall. People were getting to close, I was freaking out more than usual. They were trying to get me to go to the ER but I wouldn't... I was getting overwhelmed I started to panic...
Doctors that I don't know... and the topic of discussion, the whole day was almost more than I could take.
I was wrongfully arrested last year for DUI that I didn't do, while I was there I was assaulted and injured several times by both inmates and guards. I am physically disabled and can't walk without full leg braces and crutches, a walker, or a wheelchair. My disability is due to abuse/ violence...When people were getting too close, it triggered me...
Now every time I close my eyes ... or get to sleep for any length of time I've had trouble and I can't seem to shake it.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

On my own really tough days, I take the time to celebrate simply surviving. There are days where simply breathing at the end of the day is a great triumph. Taking the time to celebrate the fact that I did survive is a positive affirmation which reminds me to be gentle with myself and patient with the process.
Thank you for your support.
I like what everyone write above, also the post above mine about the self compassion.
Sending you lots of support
