I've been a single father for about 6 years, and was recently attacked by 2 guys with knife & gun. They cut me up, pretty good. Now I can't work or barely wipe my own ass. I just want to get away from this place, with my son & never look back. But those knife attackers took everything I had, now I don't know what to do? Or who to turn too? I'm so lost. I wish those took my life & maybe, I wouldn't be such a burden to the world. I hate my life. But I know, I can't give up because I have a son to look after, but I'm really close to giving up.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...
I hope you feel better and recover.
I'm the father of a six year old boy. There are days, weeks, months that I don't feel tremendous anxiety just leaving my bedroom. But then I see his smile and it makes everything seem worthwhile. I can't do many things for myself, but I will do everything I can for him.
The police should have victim resources for you. Contact them and they should be able to provide the info.
Okay, okay. Sending my inner class clown back to her chair now. . .
Ouch upon ouch on the knife attack. Is there such a thing as quick recovery from a trauma like that? I sure hope you can be gentle with yourself during the convalescence. I also hope you can feel safe sorting through the challenges of it here. I believe that time invested in the healing process pays big dividends throughout my life and all the lives connected to mine.
Welcome aboard. Sort freely. Sort often. Phone home.

Many states have funds set aside to care for the emotional needs of those that are victims. (I know because my son had his bike stolen last year and had to sign a form...not that he needed it for having his bike stolen, but everyone that was a victim had to sign. I'm in Pennsylvania.)
In my mind, sharing problems is a bond far stronger than knowing your name and where you attended elementary school. There are no strangers in my peer support network.
