I'm going home!?! (Scared I'm nuts)

I know I'm half nuts wanting to go back every year to the country where I grew up in a war and dictatorship and got PTSD.

But like the swallows that fly from South America to Capistrano in California every year, I seem to want to do it for some reason every year, too. This year I was thinking I'd save the money. Really, it was that flights were 20% higher this year than last year. Then tonight, I found a ticket that was marked down 30% and BOOM, I bought it. Like I said, nuts.
The place has really come around since I left. Democracy has returned and PTSD is more openly talked about than here.

I think that's why I always want to go home. My family's not there (which is good, since they were abusive and another way I got PTSD), so I don't know what it is. It's hard, as I always pass by the street corner where my car was hit by a bomb with me in it. Then some friends of mine and I decided to go bowling one Saturday only to find the bowling alley had been blown up by a bomb, too.

Yeah, nuts. But the last couple of times it was actually exposure therapy for me to see how everything has changed. I guess it's like how US soldiers go back to Vietnam or something. I'm even thinking about retiring there. Like I said, nuts.
Pray for me. I am only a community college professor and don't have much money, so I hope I'm really investing in PTSD healing and not fooling myself. it wouldn't be the first time if I did. I'm going from July 22-Aug 11, so I have plenty of time to have my head examined. :-)

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot. Got home, dropped keys. So now I have a missing debit card, missing keys. A full cartload to unload and put away. I got everything put away.Dumped purse for a...

From what I read about it, it is a beautiful place with lovely people who are now not engaged in tearing each other apart...meaning the loveliness re-emerges.
...If Mr Crazypants and I manage to start a mail-order business? I would not mind living there. They seem to be happy to welcome immigrants, provided you're going to be a tax paying person?
It's where the good bits of your childhood also happened.
I have a great feeling of ...home... in places my family lived when the most horror was happening to me.
But the beauty of there?
It made my heart sing with delight once, and does so still.
...There are no erratics in Texas.
No huge, ancient boulders dropped as if by a giant...the remnants of the foothills being covered by glaciation.
Where I live it's clay gumbo goop all the way down, like a terracine gelatin, with trilobite farts buried way below that.
Well that and avoid those funny canvas jackets that buckle your arms down.
Thanks for the nice things you said on DS PTSD about little old Uruguay. Yeah, it would be a great place to immigrate to. International Living did a spread on Americans who've moved there. http://internationalliving.com/countries/uruguay/
Yeah, wherever I go, staying out of those little jackets is always a good idea. :-) Better to be a functional nut, I agree!

During the resistance phases where I was convinced my amnesia was a good thing, and well into the early healing, I continually protested, "What is the benefit of remembering this crap?!?!?" During my most recent "Remembrance episodes" I believe I have come to understand those benefits. The crap I was trying to forget is not the entire equation. I sure did lose allot of important stuff in the mind slides of the PTSD.
Should I be hoping for you that this return to the scene of the crimes lead you past the crime to that important stuff?
So, or no, I like nuts. Strictly personal. Hope your nuttery leads you to solid spiritual healing and/or growth.
I think this is a great opportunity for you to process the events in a safe environment. The dictators are gone. Building have been rebuilt or are in the process of being rebuilt. Isn't that where you? Rebuilding yourself?
This will be hard for you, but it will be good to see the rebuilt growth. The hope
