How long until trigger is over?

2 weeks ago, I went on a visit out of town to a friend's house and got triggered while I was there. The usual thing--I met someone who reminded me of my mother and said something insensitive like she would have said, which was usually followed by physical abuse from her.
I was so triggered because, unlike when I'm in my home town and can retreat to the sanctuary of my home's safe space, I was unable to get off alone to myself staying with these friends. So the triggering has lasted two weeks now. Last night I had trouble sleeping because of it.

Next time I won't wait 2 weeks before I ask you for help! Duh.,,,
Bless you all, amigos. May you be well yourselves.
I'm so thankful to the help here, because I did indeed finally sleep like a baby last night. DS PTSD is that helpful.
The nearest you will get me to treating it like a race is where I put on a starting line show so that I can get the scorekeepers gone quicker. Faster is better for getting 'em gone so that I can get back to my unquantifiable meditations. Have fun!!! Let me know where to send your trophy!!!
