The worst part of my memory recovery work is the memories that I can neither confirm nor deny. This appears to be one. I am still clueless where I got this phrase from.
Oh well. As my most effective therapist put it, "Even normal, undamaged memories are less than perfect. All any of can really do is our honest best with what is available to us."
Don't know where I got it from, but I still think it effectively describes the 15 years between my first official dx (Trauma Induced Amnesia) and the decision to get with a program and trust the process.
Thoughts? Reality checks?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I am noticing some amnesia too but only recently. I think that I adapted without knowing it....sounds strange but true. I don't really have a barometer of normal and it is clarion to me that it is also an advantage, like being born blind
good post Arfie, thank you it gave me something to think about, in a good way
As I have healed the amnesia, all my memory functions have healed with it. I am still using the memory exercises which facilitated the healing. This post, actually, is one of those exercises.
Leave it to me to run the polar opposite of, "Normal."
