How can we tell when healing has happened? This might be my most recurring question in the long, winding journey from the Kiddie Whorehouses to comfortable retiree. I believe I have healed many, many of my too many psychic wounds in those decades, but. . . I still have no clear measure for the healing of a psychic wound. It remains an acceptance of faith. Proof unavailable.
Here in my current hidey hole, I find myself monitoring my hyper-graphia while plying therapy tools. Am I using a thousand words where one will do? Are people understanding me or muttering platitudes while looking for a graceful exit? Are my attempts at humor generating smiles or Troll Patrol penalties?
Thank you for the support during my current crisis, friends. It has been a doozey. Can I *just* it all now?
Anybody have indicators which tell them that healing has happened and it is safe to come out now?

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

My therapist keeps telling me I have made huge changes, I do notice some but not as well as she does I think. I am able too see more of my patterns but feel it is a long road and I guess we have to be happy with where we are, what else can we do
It remains extremely hard for me to see the changes in myself. My mirror tells me the same sad story as yesterday. Sigh. Would a make-over help?
My unlicensed therapy dog is calm and taking orders today. A dog's tail never lies. We are working on the leash-free heel. She is close to mastering it in an empty parking lot. I got to test her leash training on a police drama this morning. Not a big drama, though. *Just* two squad cars and a domestic incident. My Persilly is so good. She passed that leash test with flying colors. Best road buddy ever, even without the leash free heel. One of the cops looked like he wished he could abandon the domestic incident duty and come over for some dog talk. Maybe?
Persilly is doing very well!!! you two are doing very well : )
i've had other healing milestones but that was the real big push off starter moment for me.
while i do feel it is important to have those around us validate our healing milestones because from the inside looking out it can be hard to really see all of it sometimes, the very act of reaching out and asking just how far we've come shows great depth of personal awareness which is an enormous part of the healing process.
in the words of the great "Bob"- "Baby steps and i can do anything...."

I'm at a different point in life then I was years ago when I was very productive with 2 jobs and volunteer work however I can accept where I am now and feel sort of okay about it.... I feel blessed and gratitude
I've accepted that as we work through things we do move on however some things can change who we are or at least they did me ...Years of care giving and loss changed me ... I'm okay now but they took a toll and I'm not the same as I once was but I still have a sense of humour
I agree with baby steps sweetie.... Processing takes some time
Life continues though and I'm glad you're here Arf...... Gentle hug.....xo
