Mornings that get colder as they progress always have spooked the sensibilities out of me. Such a morning is passing over Central Texas. A Blue Norther started blowing over my morning meditations and has been gusting steady ever since. I am supposed to be taking layers off as the morning progresses. Instead I am adding new layers.

My beloved is out of sorts. He be a maintainer. Steady as a rock with a love of routine which is hard to compromise. An ideal balance to my restless, drifting nature. He is supposed to be freshly primed and suiting up for the bike ride to his computer network right now. It is an international network, so he has to visit nodes in various places, but he generally starts in the humming server room a 30 minute bike ride from the homestead. He lost the caffeine in his last gall bladder round, but Nature's pharmacopeia is not shy on priming agents.

Instead, of his Monday morning routine, he is shuffling through his hospital discharge papers and ... Looking hang-dog. Whether it is nobler to live procedure to procedure or just go sit under a tree and let it happen...

I suggested that the time to sit under a tree and let it happen would have been before the hospital stay. Even with the "Good Insurance" you have already invested an awful lot of capital in the procedures. Finish the job. Death happens. I vote, "Not Today." If my vote counts.
